Brief Therapy
8 sessions.
Meaningful change.
June - Aug 2026

Brief therapy is psychotherapy that turns a limit into an intentional container for processing and discovery. It has all the intensity and compassion of open-ended therapy with the added motivation of a deadline.
I use Gestalt therapy techniques with all clients, regardless of length of time we work together.
-
People who want to “sample” a therapeutic relationship with a clear exit date.
People working through specific transition or challenge and want a listening ear.
Clients looking for an interim therapist while their usual therapist is on leave.
People seeking “discernment” conversations about big life changes with a neutral outside perspective.
Clients wanting a recommendation for next steps in their treatment. I have professional contacts in a variety of fields and can make referrals at the end of our time together (although this is not guaranteed and depends on insurance and availability).
-
Sessions are 60 minutes, once a week over 8 weeks during June, July, and August 2026. Appointments may shift or skip a week due to summer traveling or vacation plans. There is no requirement that you do all 8 sessions; this is your time.
-
Appointments take place on a secure telehealth platform.
Depending on interest and scheduling, ecotherapy in the Wissahickon or Heinz Wildlife Refuge is available. These could be sitting or walking sessions.
-
Medicaid, Philadelphia residents only: No cost or no co-pay
Private pay, anywhere in PA: $120/hour ($960 for all 8 sessions)
I do not accept any insurance besides Medicaid (Community Behavioral Health/Phila)

Brief therapy is intentionally…brief. It’s not meant to be a substitute for longer-term therapeutic work. Even in a short course like this, though, I focus on building rapport so you can experience presence, compassion, and clarity around whatever you’re bringing in to sessions.
Ultimately, “enough” is a subjective state, as is “functional” or “happy,” and we can talk about what a reasonable goal is for you.
What past clients say about brief therapy with Here and Wow Therapy:
"My time in therapy with Tess was extremely beneficial. She is attentive to detail, asks the right questions, and is very goal-oriented. I left with a clear picture of potential avenues to pursue in therapy to continue improving my quality of life." (2025)
“Tess is the first therapist I have ever seen and she guided me through one of the more difficult and transition-filled periods of my life. Her attentive listening, empathy, and visual awareness of non-verbal cues - even through virtual sessions - reflects her capability and desire to help and support people. I strongly recommend her to any individual seeking or considering therapy.” (2025)
“During my short-term therapy with Tess, I was able to make significant strides in self-discovery. I was able to process parts of my past to move through the present with a greater sense of understanding. This was incredibly helpful in moving through a difficult, transitional period of my life.” (2025)
